Hints: Keep your distance to the enemy to avoid setting yourself on fire when having thrown a molotov cocktail. Rather throw them too far away than too close to you.

Since the police may be very difficult to deal with when all you have is molotov cocktails, don't let them get close to you. If possible, finish the rampage as quickly as you can to not attract too much police attention.
